Acquiring the Nature Snare Skill
Before attempting to solve this environmental challenge, players must interact with the blue hologram situated on the southern side of the ruins. This interaction unlocks the essential Nature Snare ability, which allows your character to grasp and spin objects from a distance using spiritual energy. It is highly recommended to enter the area with a fully charged Spirit meter, as operating the ancient pumps consumes a significant amount of resource.
If you find your energy depleting too quickly during the process, take a moment to consume spirit food to restore your tactical bars. Players can track their unlocked capabilities and challenge milestones anytime through the comprehensive in-game Journal interface.
Activating the First Mechanical Turbine
The puzzle area consists of a large stone basin filled with water and two distinct wooden turbine mechanisms. To begin the drainage process, approach the first dry mechanism located directly beside where the spectral hologram appeared. Activate your Focus mode by pressing the required gamepad inputs, then execute a continuous rotating motion to generate a localized tornado of energy.
Maintain this precise motion until the surrounding water level drops significantly below the stone foundation of the device. Be careful to maintain your distance from the spinning wooden parts, as standing too close will cause sudden physical damage to your character.
Draining the Submerged Basin Entirely
Once the initial water level lowers, you will gain safe access to a second mechanical device that was previously submerged on the opposite side of the basin. Navigate across the exposed stone ledge to position yourself at an advantageous vantage point near the second pump. Repeat the exact Nature Snare rotation strategy on this mechanism to continuous draw out the remaining liquid from the reservoir.
Even when the basin looks empty, keep holding the ability for an extra five seconds to guarantee the deep underground water drains completely. A short cinematic cutscene will automatically trigger to signify that you have successfully completed the environmental objective.
Claiming Your Ancient Ruins Rewards
With the entire pool fully dried out, a glowing blue podium will rise from the center of the deep stone basin. Head down into the empty chamber to interact with the newly revealed Abyss Cresset before leaving the area. Activating this ancient artifact grants you a valuable fast travel point and yields a rare item to boost your stats.
